I have been spending the lockdown period
in rural Denmark writing
a book of shih,
poems of eight lines,
seven syllables to a line.
Between April and September
I have written 400,
big-little flying fists of stories,
speeches by hosts of
characters from all times,
a résumé of human history,
pointing towards a future
the shih know but we don’t.
This is a selection,
accompanied by drawings
made on the day of composition....
